Customizable palette

David Bolton-2
The option to customize the palette has its purposes however the current
implementation makes it too easy to change the palette by accident.

Today I reordered the buttons in one palette and deleted another
palette. Both actions were accidental and took place when I was using
the palette rather than purposely changing the palette.  Could we have a
specific mode for customizing the interface similar to Firefox? This
would eliminate accidental changes to the palette during normal use.

Also is there a way to get the lines palette back that I deleted?

The customizable palette feature is not complete yet. There are missing some
functions. To reset the initial palettes you must search for the file
"mscore-palette.xml" and delete it.
Every palette has a "readOnly" flag. For test purposes this is switched off in
current versions. To prevent accidental palette changes i want to switch it on
on default and the user can enable palette editing via the palette pulldown
menu.

Thanks. The location for this file on Windows XP was:

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application
Data\MusE\MuseScore\mscore-palette.xml
