MuseScore and OpenOffice: OOoLilyPond and web display

cambiata
Hi!

I've hacked the OOoLilyPond macro to work with MuseScore (only tried windows so far).
There's a simple wink screencam at http://didaktika.se/public/ooomusescore/OooMuseScore2.htm

Music examples can be added and edited, and the msc xml is embedded in the odt as well as the bitmap image. I anyone's interested, I can make it available for download.

I've also created a (also very simple!) php class for displaying the odt files on the web.
Take a look at http://didaktika.se/public/ooomusescore/index.php

Simple and slow (as I'm reading and scaling the bitmaps out of the zipped odt each time)

Best regards!

Jonas

Hi Jonas,

your ooo macro looks very good. Recently i changed the mscore manual format from
TeX to OpenOffice. Embedding the *.msc examples in source would be a great win.
If its possible to "update" the bitmaps from the *.msc (maybe another script)
it would also be very helpful to create a oo document as a regression test for mscore.

Maybe we can add the OO macro to the MuseScore project?

Regards,
Werner

Here's code for the hacked OOoLilyPond macro

Please note that it's very rough and simple - but at least it works for me! :-)

This version works on windows.
Command line stuff changes are needed to make it work on linux - haven't had time to try that.
Check the README.txt

For installation, use and license, please check ooolilypond.sourceforge.net (GPL license)

Please change - comments and suggestions are welcome!

One thing that could be changed, I guess:

This version saves the MuseScore file as a pdf, then ImageMagick converts it to a desired-resolution png and trims the white borders.

A future version could bypass the pdf, by letting MuseScore save as a png. (Maybe ImageMagick will be needed for trimming, but it would be notably faster anyway.)
