New to MuseScore, where should I start?

maxgreenwald
Hi All!
While I've been doing C++ for a few years I'm new to this project and am very interested in helping with the development of MuseScore 3.0. I've setup the dev environment, and now I'm looking for good places to dip my hand into this monster. Are there any good places to good started/features that I should work on, and is there a way of making sure that those features aren't already being worked on by somebody else? Thanks so much!

Best,
Max

Hi Max and welcome!

You probably already found our issue tracker at https://musescore.org/en/project/issues/musescore You can assign yourself an issue to indicate that you are working on it. If you need to discuss the way you will implement a fix or a feature, you can use this mailing list or our IRC channel #musescore on freenode.net  <a href="https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net/?nick=musescore|?#musescore">https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net/?nick=musescore|?#musescore

You can get more info about MuseScore development here https://musescore.org/en/development
You can read in particular our Git workflow page https://musescore.org/en/developers-handbook/git-workflow

Let me know if you have further questions.
