Play Panel is greyed out

Jim Burton
Hi, I just installed MuseScore 0.91 rev 646 from the ubuntu package on Ubuntu Gutsy. It looks great, just what I needed -- thanks to all the developers! In the Display menu, the Play panel option is greyed out and F11 does nothing. Am I likely to be missing some libraries, or is this package compiled without certain options? How can I tell?

Thanks!

most likely you need to install a soundfont (package fluid-soundfont-gm) and
configure its path in mscore edit/preferences

Thanks for your reply. That package isn't available for gutsy, just Hardy+ it seems. Can I get soundfonts from somewhere else?

Developers,

Sometimes this happens to me on Windows even if a SoundFont is installed.

Opening up Edit --> Preferences... --> I/O and hitting OK then
restarting MuseScore fixes the problem for me. This was recently
reported on the tracker by an anonymous user:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1985880&group_id=109430&atid=653454

I haven't figured out what triggers MuseScore to sometimes disables
payback. Any ideas about what might be happening?
