MuseScore is portable now thanks to the guys of winpenpack.com. Its the 0.9.2 release, so not the most recent one. For the latest win releases, check: http://prereleases.musescore.org

Download portable release at
http://www.winpenpack.com/main/download.php?view.965

In case you are wondering what portable is, check Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_Software

So I guess your question is 'where is the mac release?'
Well, up until today no one has been taken up the challenge to build MuseScore for Mac, at least not to my knowledge. But since MuseScore is developed on QT, this job could be done. Anyone?
