If you could find a sponsor for me, that would be great; it's been
sitting that way for too long...

That is correct and indeed the latest version of a package available.

Looks like either you'll have to build context for yourself (you can
surely download the sources for the context package from unstable), or
actually upgrade to unstable itself. Does Etch not have the package?

Although, now I think about it, with the new online documentation
system in 0.9.2, is context still required? Werner?

How could I find a "sponsor" for you and what does it means? I am not
part of any international ONG, enterprise or so... we at Musix just
have a good realtionship with FSF

Fine! working with it

Yes i did it, but then context has another dep, and so on, at the end
(I worked on it for many days), finally I have to backport all the
world ;-) and it seems impossible :)

 | or actually upgrade to unstable itself.

I am doing so in my installed Musix distro, but I dont want to do it
into the public Musix version: we worked hard for 3 years on Musix to
make an stable OS and, now that we just have it, it would be a pain
to go to unstable again if we want to install it on music schools
(and there are many plans about it here on Argentina: some schools
are using it, and many more want it). Home users could deal with
unstable, but a music school needs a stable system.

 | Does Etch not
 | have the package?

No it does not (now i have etch and unstable on my sources.list)

apt-cache policy context
context:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 2008.05.21-1
  Version table:
     2008.05.21-1 0
        500 ftp://ftp.br.debian.org unstable/main Packages
     2008.01.28-1 0
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

 |

 | system in 0.9.2, is context still required? Werner?

Oh: it would be nice to sort it out: if I could backport mscore to
Debian ETCH without the need of context maybe many people on music
schools will not neet to use wine+finale or wine+sibeluis or Virtual
box or so.

And I really dont want them to install propietary non free software,
its a main goal

By the way,  it's possible to make this

www.musix.org.ar/tmp/victor_out.png

 with Mscore 0.92?

Thanks and

Regards

context is not required anymore for current mscore. The online documentation
is now pure xhtml. The outdated tex manuals are now removed. Work in progress
is done on an OpenOffice manual.

in current head branch of mscore it looks like the attached pdf.
I did not remember the state of cross staff beam implementation in 0.9.2
but as you see the beaming is still somewhat unflexible.

Excellent; I will update the packages to reflect that.

The sources on mentors.debian.net have now been updated. Marcos, try
building the package now that the context Build-Dependency has been
removed.

Don't worry; that's not your prerogative. A sponsor is a Debian
Developer who is willing to upload packages created/touched by
non-(official)-developers.

The example you provided can all be done in MuseScore. You may encounter
a display bug with cross staff beaming in the current version but it is
only temporary. Switching tabs and coming back to the document fixes any
display issues for me.

See documentation: http://mscore.sourceforge.net/en/man/crossbeams.php
