Excerpt from the README file:

Program Documentation:

      Type
            cd build
            make doxy

to generate the program documentation with DoxyGen.

Browse the documentation with your favourite html browser
      at:
            build/Doc/html/index.html

The program documentation assumes you already have build mscore by typing
"make" in the top directory.
The build directory can be created manually (without building mscore):

      mkdir build
      cd build
      cmake ../mscore

Since those are development docs they belong in the source
distribution (they are actually generated by a tool called doxygen
from information contained in the source code files.)

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/mscore/mscore-0.9.2.tar.bz2

However perhaps mscore is not the right tool for you. What do you want
to achieve? Take a look at lilypond and midi2ly.

I return to Musescore.

Now I am working in windows. The only documentation I found is a manual about how to use the program. I need documentation about how the program was written. I found gendoc.cpp, but when I try to compile it returns me:

In file included from gendoc.cpp:22:
xml.h:24: QtCore/QTextStream: No such file or directory
xml.h:25: QtCore/QVariant: No such file or directory
xml.h:26: QtCore/QString: No such file or directory
xml.h:27: QtCore/QList: No such file or directory
xml.h:28: QtXml/QDomElement: No such file or directory

Help please!!

Hi,

the only documentation available about how mscore works is the
source code.

There is a program called "doxygen" in linux which can be used to prepare a program
documentation. Under linux install doxygen, latex (tetex package) and probably more.
Then build mscore and go to the build directory. "make doxy" then creates
the program documentation which on success can be found in build/Doc/html. Point
your browser to build/Doc/html/index.html.

But beware, MuseScore is huge and not trivial.
Good Luck!

I forgot: gendoc.cpp is only a small hack to create the mscore web
pages from an xml file. Its also used to create the mscore online help.
Nothing you should care about.
