Status of PortAudio implementation

Toby Smithe-2
Hi,

I have recently enabled mscore on Ubuntu to build with PortAudio. This
doesn't seem to do much except enable the PortAudio checkbox option in
the Audio preferences dialog box. The Api and Device fields are blank.

Is there something special I need to do? I'm quite keen to see this
working, as it would enable mscore to output sound when ALSA is
unavailable (ie, locked by PulseAudio).

Thanks,

Toby

PortAudio is primarily for use by the windows port. I enabled PortAudio for
linux to ease debugging. PortAudio uses ALSA or OSS (which is i think is the
ALSA OSS portability layer) so i doubt it will help.

All settings in I/O require a restart of mscore. After restart the available
api's and devices are selectable.

Excellent; I'm building trunk as we speak to check this out.

(Sorry that I failed to reply on-list earlier).
