Unable to Compile Version 0.9.4

Nathan Hale
Thanks to everybody on the MuseScore team for putting out another
great release! I'm really looking forward to using it. At this time,
I'm unable to compile on Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid. I receive the following
output:

nathan@Hurley:~/bin/mscore/mscore-0.9.4$ make release
if test ! -d build;                              \
         then                                          \
            mkdir build;                               \
            cd build;                                  \
            cmake -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=RELEASE       \
             -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=""/usr/local"" \
              ../mscore;       \
            make lupdate;                              \
            make lrelease;                             \
            make -j `grep -c processor /proc/cpuinfo`;
          \
         else                                          \
echo "build directory does already exist, please remove
first with 'make clean'"; \
         fi;
Segmentation fault
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/nathan/bin/mscore/mscore-0.9.4/build'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `lupdate'.  Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/nathan/bin/mscore/mscore-0.9.4/build'

make[1]: *** No targets specified and no makefile found.  Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/nathan/bin/mscore/mscore-0.9.4/build'
make: *** [release] Error 2

I'm not really sure where to go from here. Other apps seem to be
compiling fine, and I have tried re-installing gcc.

I'm using kubuntu 8.10 and mscore compiles with no problems. Its not clear
what application segfaults on your system. What cmake version are you using?
("cmake --version"  says "2.6-patch 2" here)

Re: Unable to Compile Version 0.9.4

Maybe my Cmake version is the problem. Output from cmake --version is:

cmake version 2.6-patch 0

Is there a relatively easy way to get an updated Cmake for Ubuntu?

The adept package manager says:
cmake Version 2.6.2-1ubuntu1 intrepid1 is installed
so there must be a ubuntu package. I enabled all available package sources +
"http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-experimental/ubuntu intrepid main"

Create and Deploy Rich Internet Apps outside the browser with Adobe(R)AIR(TM)
software. With Adobe AIR, Ajax developers can use existing skills and code to
build responsive, highly engaging applications that combine the power of local
resources and data with the reach of the web. Download the Adobe AIR SDK and
Ajax docs to start building applications today-http://p.sf.net/sfu/adobe-com

Guys,

for future reference, if you ever want to know from which channel a
package is installed or available, run

apt-cache policy $PACKAGE

which should give an output like:

toby@leopard:~$ apt-cache policy cmake
cmake:
  Installed: 2.6.2-1ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.6.2-1ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2.6.2-1ubuntu1 0
        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

In other news, I will be updating the mscore packages for Ubuntu and
Debian to 0.9.4 tomorrow.

Good evening,
